Scope and Contents note
The collection also contains records from the Exploration and Scientific Collection Committee [ESCC] of the Board of Trustees and the Nixon Griffis Fund for Zoological Research [NGFZR]. Griffis chaired the ESCC (Behler was its Secretary), and Behler administered the NGFZR for the Society. The ESCC materials include minutes, correspondence, and detailed dossiers on species proposed for exhibit at the Bronx Zoo and the New York Aquarium. The NGFZR records include both administrative files for the fund as a whole and individual files on funded projects.
