Scope and Contents

This reel contains three different Department of Tropical Research expeditions: 1) The Bathysphere, Bermuda [also #3]: "Animation, Bathysphere descent. Pulling in twisted hose and uncoiling. Hurricane on Nonsuch Island. Loading Bathysphere from the deck of Taifun, onto the [barge] Ready"--Beebe film catalog circa 1940, p41. "With Beebe and Barton on top. First testing of the Bathysphere - bailing out Bathysphere from water. Second testing of Bathysphere - bailing out Bathysphere from water"--Original can label. Removing imperfect window.
