Royal Little Africa Film Library, circa 1962-1970

 Series

Scope and Contents

A supporter of the New York Zoological Society between the 1960s and 1980s, Royal Little was engaged particularly with the organization’s African Wildlife Fund. Among the projects supported by this fund were the creation of films designed to educate audiences from the United States and African countries—especially in East Africa—about the importance of saving African wildlife. The original cans for the reels in this series were labeled “Royal Little Africa Film Library;” it is unknown whether Little created or collected this footage, which focuses primarily on East African wildlife.
