This collection contains correspondence between Harold C. Palmer and people and organizations related to New York Zoological Society (NYZS) while he held the position of Assistant Secretary. Major subjects covered in Palmer’s correspondence include aspects of the Society's activities, including its operation of the Bronx Zoo and the New York Aquarium as well as its international conservation efforts. Planning of the Annual Members Meetings and Annual Business Meetings and records of donations and gifts to NYZS and the Women’s Committee are also found in this collection. General Correspondence contains material from various individuals or groups and society Presidents Laurence S. Rockefeller and Robert G. Goelet.
