Scope and Contents
This subseries concerns Osborn’s editing of The Pacific World, a 1944 collection of essays by scientists from various fields. The publication was intended to provide information to American soldiers stationed in the Pacific during World War II about the area’s oceans, land, peoples, and animals. It consists largely of correspondence with the collection’s contributors and edited copies of their manuscripts.
