Scope and Contents
The Conservation Committee of the NYZS Board of Trustees was formed to oversee the wildlife conservation activities sponsored by the Society and to disburse funds via the Society’s Conservation Account to individual researchers or other organizations. Begun in 1938, the Conservation Account was initiated with funds from the Permanent Wild Life Protection Fund, originally formed by William Hornaday and transferred to the Society in 1937.
