Scope and Contents

Various footage from the 40th expedition of the Department of Tropical Research's field studies in Bermuda. This reel includes shots of a building's exterior, antlions, land crabs, toads [duplicating footage found on reel 102576]. William Beebe with a man possibly called Bob capturing fish at night ["Night light-- Bob and I"--Note in original can for reel 102576]. Close-up shots of squilla mantis, squid, Leptocephalus, and William Beebe collecting specimens while swimming in the bay, floating weeds, pipe fish, and the silhouette on a crab in the sunset. It is possible that Bronson Hartley and Mr. and Mrs. Greame Kelley are the unidentified DTR staff members in this reel.
