Scope and Contents
Edited film likey presented at NYZS Annual Meeting about the Department of Tropical Research's 54th expedition in Malaya, and narrated by Jocelyn Crane. Begins with preface showing William Beebe and Michael Tweedie, director of the Raffles Museum, followed by Beebe visiting the Johor Zoo. The Curious Crabs of Singapore documents Jocelyn Crane's studies on 32 species of Ocypodid crabs. Footage of Singapore waterfront, followed by footage and descriptions of various crabs, with focus on courtship beahviors, feeding, sheltering, and fighting. Footage of crabs is interspersed with shots of people in urban areas.
